Do you want to get into the holiday spirit, at your car wash?
Doing so, means that there is a good chance of generating more business.
Almost everyone loves the holidays.
Invite Santa to Visit
There’s no better way to invoke holiday spirit. Children generally want to visit Santa, regardless of where he parks his sleigh. Because of this, accommodating parents will no doubt appreciate getting their car washed, as part of the deal.
Go one step further and have an ornament coloring contest. There doesn’t have to be a “big” winner. Hand out a small treat, such as a candy cane or small chocolate Santa, to all who participate.
Give Out Calendars
Around the holidays, it is somewhat of a tradition for businesses to give out calendars to their customers. It’s relatively simple to create and print calendars, using your computer. Include photos of classic cars along with basic car maintenance tips. Consider including a monthly coupon, as well. This is a good way to generate additional business.
Help a Charity
Choose a local charity and give a discount to any customer who makes some type of donation. For example, help a food bank by soliciting canned goods and non-perishable items. Help a homeless shelter by asking customers to donate hats and mittens, in exchange for a deeply discounted car wash.
Provide Free Hot Cocoa and Cookies
Provide complementary hot cocoa and cookies with every car wash. Set up a small self-serve station in your waiting area. If you have a drive-through establishment, simply instruct employees to hand them out to whoever wants a quick snack.
Rent a Booth at a Holiday Bazaar
Let’s face it, most people don’t expect to see a car wash represented at a holiday bazaar. Why not get a bit creative and surprise them? Don a Santa outfit and hand out small holiday treats, for the kids, along with discount coupons for the parents.
There’s no reason you can’t take small items to sell, as well. Many car accessories items make great stocking stuffers.
This is, by no means, a complete list of creative ideas to bring in the holiday cheer with your car wash. However, these suggestions provide a good starting point. Make your final decision, based on your budget and the amount of time you want to put into organizing.
Whatever you do, your customers will love you for it and will typically remain loyal throughout the entire year.
