MacNeil Pro-Coat Finish
MacNeil's Pro-Coat finish allows you to easily keep your equipment looking new with just mild soap and water. It also prevents your equipment from corroding, ensuring many more years of successful operation than untreated stainless steel or aluminum. All MacNeil superstructure components and weldments constructed of steel, stainless steel and aluminum have a Pro-Coat finish with a multi-year warranty against corrosion.
Pro-Coat is a combination of two powder coatings: a base coat of 3M™ epoxy and a top coat of polyester resin. The 3M™ epoxy powder provides corrosion protection with its excellent resistance to over 100 chemicals as well as wastewater, detergents and salt water. The polyester resin provides a glossy wipe-clean surface.
Features
- Resistant to salt and over 100 wash chemicals
- Glossy surface resists mineral buildup and is easy to clean and maintain
- Using Pro-Coat allows MacNeil to build equipment out of high-strength steel for long-lasting durability
Pro-Coat Process
- Steel is sandblasted and pre-heated to 475ºF.
- 3M™ epoxy powder is applied to the steel with electrostatic spray equipment. The heat of the steel turns the powder to a gel.
- Steel is baked again and then the polyester resin powder is applied in the same manner as the epoxy.
- Steel is baked for the final time and then allowed to cool. Both powders gel, harden and bond to the steel.
- Result: a uniform and attractive finish made to withstand years of use in a car wash and to make maintenance easy for you.
